Dinner tonight was good-not great- but good. Here's my breakdown:
~Atmosphere: The interior is pleasing. Comfy & classy looking. I arrived right at 5 and was surprised to be the only diner until another party of 2 arrived at 6.
~Service: I was alone and wanted to chill for a bit. My waiter was attentive without being over bearing. His timing was perfect and everything ordered was accurate. No complaints here.
~Food: I started with the arugula salad. It's topped with balsamic, olive oil & parmesan. I feel they went too light on dressing and requested more. Parmesan is the only addition to this salad which could really use an additional topping or 2, just to jazz it up a bit. Some nuts or small cauliflower bits could really put this salad over the top. Also, I get that arugula is stemmy but a minimal effort on their part to remove some of the stems would have been great.
For my entree, I went with their Olio Signature dish which is spaghetti w/ a slightly chunky tomato sauce seasoned w/ basil. Overall, this is a good dish BUT-they went too light on sauce and I had to request more. The dish was too lightly seasoned. I never add salt to food but when I do get the urge to add salt to a dish, this tells me they are too light handed w/ seasonings. Even with that being said, it was still goodish.
Dinners are served with some great tasting, lightly toasted crostini type bread a section of roasted garlic. The garlic spreads easily on the bread (think butter consistency) and tasted wonderful.
~Cost: I think this may be the real issue here since the food is decent enough. I had 2 glasses of wine, the salad and a plate of spaghetti. The check was $74. This, in my opinion, is a bit excessive considering what I had. I get that this is meant to be an upscale Italian place and expected pricing to reflect that-but not in the $74 price range. Had this been in the $50 range, OK, but my dinner didn't earn the high price it came with. -

When we arrived, we were surprised that it was empty. However, the decor and the ambience were very nice.
We sat down at our table and everything we ate was phenomenal. We really enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed the food tremendously. Maybe they're not quite ready yet, but it's definitely worth going back to and absolutely worth trying.
I also want to mention that our waiter, Matthew, did a great job and we hope to have him again when we go back! -

This restaurant is new to the area, but given that it is somewhat upscale Italian we attempted to call to be sure we could be seated. The phone went to a voicemail without an option to speak with anyone. We decided to chance it anyway and on arrival we were greeted and seated right away as the place was not too busy.
The restaurant has an nice ambiance with gas lights at the entry, fireplace near the bar/patio area and indoor/outdoor seating available.
After placing an out appetizer order, the waiter brought out crostini and roasted garlic to the table as a starter. The roasted garlic spread surprisingly easy and was very good.
Next arrived our appetizer, we ordered the burrata with bacon and caramelized shallot, however the food runner brought burrata with broccolini. This was quickly corrected by the waiter and delicious as expected.
As suggested by the waiter, I ordered the tagliatelle with bolognese. The bolognese had great flavor and the the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The portion was satisfying as I finished but was not overly full.
My wife ordered the sheep's milk ravioli and she was not let down. The ravioli was delicious, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and the sheep's milk paired nicely with the lemon flavor.
Overall we had a good experiment at Olio Italian and would return. Looking forward to seeing what Olio brings to the Montgomery food scene long term. -

The ambiance of this place is adorable and I had high hopes, but the meal just didn't cut it.
Went for happy hour and dinner with friends and the cocktails were very good (the Sgorppini (sp) was delicious), but the food left a bit to be desired. I felt the price point was a little high for the portion size and the taste was just okay on my angry crab pasta (I mean I wasn't quite angry, maybe perturbed).
My group tried the 100 layer lasagna and the Olio Signature and neither raved. I brought the salmon home for my husband and he really enjoyed it.
The starter bread is great with house roasted garlic and plentiful. Overall, I would return for cocktails and apps, but stop there. -

Terrible. Nice decor. Not great service. Bad food. High prices. If in the area and set on Italian, go to Pies and Pints. Seriously.
We had:
Mozzarella: Strange presentation... not very good
Chopped Salad: Fine
Lasagna: Terrible
Carbonara: Worse than terrible
Short Rib Ravioli: 1 out of 3 liked it
